Lowsec CSM Nominee Interviews

With the CSM Voting starting, here are your Lowsec CSM candidates for next term. As a round up I have interviewed Tikktokk, Silver Suspiria, and Kalen Tsero. Saint Michaels Soul was unavailable for comment, though if you would like to know more about him, he will answer EVE mails.

You can view all the candidates’ information, not just lowsec, here, and can vote in this year’s CSM election here.

Tikktokk

Please give a short introduction of yourself, what you do in the game and how long you have been playing along with anything else you’d like to add.

Tikktokk

I started early 2011 and joined Minmatar militia right after the Faction Warfare rebalance. I’ve branched off since then and tried everything I could think of that doesn’t require a blob to achieve, but I always end up returning to my eternal home of Amamake. The last few years have mostly been spent on tournaments, flying AT ships, and administrating a couple of alliances.

CaseyLP

What is your reason for running for CSM?

Tikktokk

I want to be able to ask CCP two questions: “is this balanced” and “will this increase player interaction.” For the last couple of years, the answer has depressingly often been “no.” My goal is to increase the number of times we can answer “yes” to both questions for new or changing features.

CaseyLP

Why do you think people should vote for you over other candidates?

Tikktokk

I’m a very competitive player who always plays to win. I’m that guy who flew Garmurs with off-grid links, high-grade Snakes, and fighters assigned to me by a supercarrier back when that was possible. As a competitive player, I have a constant desire for challenges to push myself past my limit so I can grow. Unlike most of my fellow snaked, linked, and skynetted Garmur pilots, I always complain about broken mechanics. I’d rather have an even playing field where I’d be challenged by everyone while playing optimally, than the one we have currently where a small percentage of “elite PVPers” will challenge each other while oppressing everyone else who lacks the resources to compete. This attitude puts me in a somewhat unique situation where I have both an in-depth knowledge of the game and its mechanics, while also being willing to share how new features or changes that are advantageous to me can be damaging the overall health of the game.

CaseyLP

If you were on CSM, what is one change for the game you would push?

Tikktokk

It’s hard to be specific because of the roadmap™. I would push features and changes that encourage player interaction and conflict. Since the removal of passive moon mining, there haven’t particularly been any objectives in space to invest in and fight over. While casual roams and Rorqual ganking is fun, it’s not what creates bitter rivalries and stories to be remembered for years to come.

CaseyLP

Do you have any final comments you want to give before wrapping this interview up?

Tikktokk

Please also consider voting for Suitonia and Mawderator, two candidates who mostly share my views, knowledge, and desire use the CSM to improve the game’s health instead of furthering our alliances’ interests.

CaseyLP

Thank you for the interview, good luck with the CSM elections!

Silver Suspiria

CaseyLP

Please give a short introduction of yourself, what you do in the game and how long you have been playing along with anything else you’d like to add.

Silver Suspiria

I am Silver Suspiria; I have been playing since 2014, I describe myself as a B-R baby, I started playing the game after watching mainstream gaming news coverage of the fight. I am currently the XO of Federation Uprising, a Faction War alliance.

CaseyLP

What is your reason for running for CSM?

Silver Suspiria

I have a passion for the game as its like no other. I believe my real life skills can help me translate my knowledge and love for EVE into useful help for CCP. I also feel like I want to give back to the community as this has become more than a game for me. I have made real-life friends, and it has become a satisfying hobby for me. I take my alliance as seriously as the various sports teams I play on in real life.

CaseyLP

Why should people vote for you over other candidates? What sets you apart?

Silver Suspiria

I believe I can serve with a truly open mind, I believe my real-world experience can help me formulate truly helpful feedback, and I have the support of the other Militia Groups which doesn’t happen for low sec candidates very often. I also feel that being a student of the game gives me a well-rounded set of knowledge to apply.

CaseyLP

If you were on CSM, what is one change for the game you would push?

Silver Suspiria

I would say, what I would push for is to convince CCP that Faction War doesn’t need a complete massive re-work. We know there isn’t Dev time for such work. But a few simple / smaller changes like the one we got with warp core stabs could go a really long way to bringing it back as a viable mode of gameplay.

CaseyLP

Do you have any final comments you want to give before wrapping this interview up?

Silver Suspiria

Yes, my main message as CSM candidate is that Low Sec and Faction War is extremely important for CCP to keep healthy. It offers a very key alternative style of play separate from what goes on in null sec. For players like myself who enjoy EVE on a smaller scale, its what keeps us in the game. That being said, my service would be to the health of the game as a whole.

Kalen Tsero

CaseyLP

Please give a short introduction of yourself, what you do in the game and how long you have been playing along with anything else you’d like to add.

Kalen Tsero

I’m Kalen Tsero; I am a lowsec pirate by trade. I currently run the Tsundere Triad alliance (WeebFleet corp). I’ve done everything in lowsec from living as a pirate in FW space and preying on FW players to joining one of my main low “blocs” and fighting the other “blocs.” Then the reverse to being an FW player and having to fend off pirates while making a push to reclaim the holy lands from the filth of the Saracens Minmatar. I’ve been playing regularly for little over five years now.

CaseyLP

What is your reason for running for CSM?

Kalen Tsero

To be another potential voice for FW space and lowsec in general for when they make changes that affect all areas of space. We may not be on the roadmap for a bit still, but having a voice of reason for sweeping changes is still a good idea.

CaseyLP

Why should people vote for you over other candidates?

Kalen Tsero

To be honest, that question isn’t very good due to us using the STV method. I think the people should vote for all of the lowsec candidates. Each of us who are running all seem to have the same passion for a healthy lowsec this year. Why should I be placed above others on ballots? That’s a tough one because the only accolade I have to my name is temporarily unifying a good portion of AmarrMil just long enough for us to get momentum and start steamrolling the Matari

CaseyLP

If you were on CSM, what is one change for the game you would push?

Kalen Tsero

Jokingly (although kindanotreally): I’d continue Jin’Taan’s work on getting us cat ears
seriously: Get them to change the ability to dock in structures in hostile FW as in freeports could no longer be “freeports” to militia members. That would go a long way in making a bunch of systems valuable again.
