THE HEADLINES AT 1900 EVE ON TUESDAY 19th OF JUNE

NER News at 7 o’clock. This is Hugh Caswakk. Good evening.

War looms in Immensea as Legacy and TRUMPY/WinterCo/Holy League forces square off, with supercapitals deployed on both sides.

Galmil forces, led by Federation Uprising, continue their siege of Oicx.

Goonswarm have destroyed 9 Pandemic Legion Rorquals in the system of 30-D5G.

Jin’taan is forming a coalition named ‘The 7th Estate’.

WAR CLOSE IN IMMENSEA

It is now becoming apparent that the clouds of war gathering over Immensea are about to burst. On the 16th, Winter Coalition moved their staging to EIH-IU, complete with a new keepstar. This staging gives them jump range over much of Western Immensea, owned by Legacy. On the 17th, the Holy League – aligned with WinterCo – moved their supercapital fleet to Y-FZ5N, in Immensea. Additionally, this move puts much of Legacy owned Immensea within strike range.

This threat has not got unnoticed by Legacy. On the 17th, their leadership sent out a ping to the alliance, reading:

(3:51:32 PM) allies.pleaseignore.com: ATTENTION EVERYONE, WE ARE HAVING A COALITION MEETING ON MONDAY AT 20:00 EVE TIME. PLEASE READ:

Alright everyone, so in case you haven’t heard yet, Skill Urself and the rest of the Holy Rental Empire drone lands group just deployed all of their supers to Immensea, so shit has officially gotten real. This is much more firepower than we’ve ever had on our border since we’ve moved down here, and as you know Triumvirate and FRT and everyone else in the galaxy will all be working together to shoot us, so this is it.

In the meeting, held yesterday, Legacy leadership figures said that the upcoming fight would be difficult. Though Legacy does substantially outnumber their Eastern opponents in subcapital numbers, capital and supercapital numbers are more on par with each other from both sides. Vily, a member of Legacy Military Leadership, estimates that the Eastern bloc can field approximately ~100 titans. Moreover, the Eastern bloc forces are experienced in combat following the fall of the DRF.

The first public action taken by Legacy has been to drop a keepstar in DY-P7Q and restage the coalition there. They have also issued updated doctrines, especially for TEST Alliance.

The rhetoric of concern over the situation from Legacy has met with controversy on reddit. Some figures have condemned Legacy for equating the Eastern bloc with ‘everyone else in the galaxy.’ However, the situation remains in flux. NER will keep you updated as it develops.

GALMIL BESIEGE OICX

Approximately three weeks ago, Gallente Militia mounted a large-scale effort to retake the Faction Warfare zone from CalMil. The Gallente swiftly snapped up backwater systems in the face of moderate resistance. However, CalMil drew the line in the system of Oicx. This system is the home of The Bloc, the largest alliance in CalMil. It is also well-positioned to mount fleets into both Black Rise and Placid. Pilots and materiel were mustered to defend it.

GalMil has taken up the gauntlet and deployed a large force – mainly from Federation Uprising – to the system. The siege has been ongoing for a week now, with 1850 ships lost on all sides. Though the ISK lost is small by nullsec standards, as most combatants are in cheap destroyers, it does not mean that the fighting has not been intense.

It is currently understood that Oicx is held in a stalemate. However, this has required the efforts of much of CalMil. Other GalMil alliances have been busy taking systems of less importance in the region, with their defenders occupied.

The cause for this latest offensive is two-fold. Firstly, stockpiles of Gallente loyalty points are running out. There is, therefore, an economic imperative to re-secure the war zone. Secondly, NER understands that the conflict is revenge explicitly targeted against The Bloc for their attacks on Federation Uprising. Our correspondent in GalMil reports:

“The whole point of this offensive is to destroy The Bloc alliance. This is a revenge campaign – because while FEDUP was deployed in nullsec on a defensive campaign against Psychotic Tendencies and Black Legion…, The Bloc hit our structures in Oicx, which partially drew our attention away from null, but were defended succesfully.

The battle is only likely to continue rumbling. NER will keep you updated as it does.

PANDEMIC LEGION RORQUALS DOWN IN 30-D5G

At around 0710 this morning, a Pandemic Legion Rorqual mining fleet was ambushed by an Imperium bomber fleet. The action started the Imperium destroying two PL Mackinaws. PL combat drones did claim some bomber casualties. The Rorquals also dropped Wetu Mobile Depots to store their valuable Excavator drones but the bomber fleet destroyed them before they could anchor, and the Imperium turned their efforts on the ships proper.

In response, the Rorquals quickly went into PANIC. This gives them 7 minutes of total invulnerability. It is usually deployed to buy time for a rescue fleet to arrive. PL did not deploy such a fleet. Whether this was by choice, or the Imperium moved too fast, is currently unknown.

Nevertheless, the result is nine dead rorquals to the tune of the 106.7bn ISK.

JIN’TAAN’S NEW COALITION ‘SEVENTH ESTATE’ GROWING

Jin’taan, formerly of Provibloc fame, has been steadily building a coalition in Immensea. Red Noise is central to this new coalition. However, in past days, it has incorporated the following alliances.

· Synergy of Steel

· SL0W CHILDREN AT PLAY

· Manifesto.

· Blue Sun Interstellar Technologies

It may take a few more days for these groups to become settled in Immensea. It has also taken three systems in Eastern Immensea and is currently clashing with the various powers there. In particular, it holds presently Y-FZ5N – which is the location of the Holy League deployment in the South. The proximity of the two sides has led to a series of skirmishes, which have been enjoyable to all parties.

When asked about whether Red Noise could field capital and supercapital forces, Jin’taan refused to comment.

AND NOW FOR THE NEWS WHERE YOU ARE

NORTHERN

NORTH VS IMPERIUM OVER ROIR-Y RAITARU

There has been a sharp brawl between GOTG/NCdot/MC and the Imperium in the system of ROIR-Y, over an Imperium Raitaru. The north deployed a Nightmare fleet backed up by a Loki fleet (totaling 232) vs. a 97-man Imperium Ishtar fleet. The action ended with the Imperium Raitaru destroyed. The toll stands at ~12bn for Imperium vs. ~5bn for the north.

EASTERN

ETHERIUM REACH CAMPAIGN ONGOING

Prothean Alliance, an erstwhile member of the DRF, continues to hold the line against the Etherium Breach coalition (led by Unspoken Alliance) in Etherium Reach. With the Holy League departing Southwards, Prothean Alliance is on the rebound – and has been seen working with Pandemic Horde.

SOUTHERN

HEL AND TWO NIDHOGGURS FROM FOUNTAIN CORE DOWN TO IRON ARMARDA

Fountain Core (comprised of We want your ISK and GaNg BaNg TeAm) have been engaged in a cold war of cloaky camping and harassment following a diplomatic disagreement with Iron Armada.

An engagement developed when a Fountain Core hunter attempted to destroy an Iron Abyssal site runner. Iron formed a small gang to kill the hunter, who cynoed in a Niddhoggur. Iron responded by dropping a carrier to defang, but this was swiftly counter-dropped by a small Fcore super force. Iron suicided interdictors until it could form a sufficient capital force and then dropped onto the superfleet. A full AAR from a source within Iron can be found here.

For now, that’s how it is in New Eden. Good night.
