LEGACY SETBACK IN LK1K; ‘FIRST BATTLE OF THE EVERYONE VS EVERYONE WAR’
There was a major action in LK1K on June 28th. You can go here for summary details. NER reporter Salivan Harddin is currently drafting a more comprehensive battle-report, interviewing all sides.
In very brief; the battle saw Legacy sending fighters and subcapitals to attack the WinterCo staging Fortizar in LK1K. However, this was countered by a strong eastern supercapital force. Legacy declined to deploy their supercapitals, and therefore ultimately lost the action.
Though the battle did not see dramatic losses on either side, KillahBee of NCdot – who commanded the overall defensive efforts for the Eastern Allies – commented in TiS that it was:
the first really big battle
of the everyone vs everyone war
not very big in losses but momentum wise pretty important and for once an actual fight
so that alone is worth mentioning
When this is combined with the below news item of PL moving a capital force to the region, it does seem to indicate that the war is growing significantly.
XIX OFFENSIVE FALTERING IN TENERIFIS
Last week, XiX, with Legacy support, began an offensive to take the region of Tenerifis. However, this effort appears to be faltering.
Garden Annoyances (Centipede Caliphate, Wormageddon, and Blades of Grass) have taken back all of the three systems XiX seized in the CL-QB2 constellation. Moreover, Blades of Grass has held on to the constellation of G3IP-E, though Legacy entosis efforts continue.
The campaign has not been entirely disastrous for XiX. Their forces, combined with Legacy, did destroy an anchoring BoG Fortizar on the 26th. However, BoG has now anchored another Fortizar without contestation.
On the 28th of June, Winter Coalition took both sov and i-Hub in T2-V8F, Tenerifis, from Legacy. T-2 hosted a Legacy jump-bridge, which allowed for rapid movement of the Legacy fleet to southern Tenerifis. Without this logistical enabler, Legacy efforts in the region will become more difficult. Further to this, Eastern offensive action has now been expanding in a limited way into Feythabolis.
TRIUMVIRATE SUPERFLEET SENT TO IMMENSEA
Triumvirate has deployed their supercapital fleet to Immensea. NER correspondent Seddows observed them moving into the system of Y-FZ5N. It is understood that they are operating from a Fortizar, gifted to them by Fraternity. The Tri Fort is on the grid with the current Holy League staging Fort, allowing a concentration of forces.
This move marks an escalation in the conflict for Legacy. Previously, they enjoyed a supercapital superiority in the region. Now, with Triumvirate forces deployed forward, both have sides have parity of forces. This balance suggests that sub-capital action will become ever more critical going forward.
PANDEMIC LEGION MOVING CAPITALS TO ZMV9-A, TENERIFIS
At 17:45 EVE, NER was informed that Pandemic Legion was engaged in a capital move-op in Curse. NER military observer Seddows went to investigate and tracked the PL forces as they jumped into LK1K-5 in Immensea. The system is one gate from Holy League/TRI staging, and PL’s capitals docked at the Fortizar they own in the system.
Initial assessment from D-Scan and imagery places the PL force at 250 dreadnoughts, 100 carriers, and 100 FAXes.
EHA FALLS TO THE GALLENTE MILITIA
Eha, the home system of The Bloc – one of the largest Caldari Militia alliances – has de-facto fallen to the Gallente Militia. Kontraband, a senior figure in Federation Uprising (FEDUP), told NER that:
After the fall of Oicx we started immediately on Eha. Where Oicx was more of a FEDUP operation while greater GalMil finished up some warzone objectives, Eha was a full blown GalMil offensive with yuge, Pen Is Out, Villore Accords, and GOG fully committing. It was shorter and more one sided with Eha falling quickly alongside a few more citadels in Oicx. The Bloc’s main staging Astra in Oicx being among the destroyed. FEDUP was on a revenge campaign for aggression from bloc while gal mil was more j “remove squid”
NER was further informed that the Templis Caldari Special Forces, one of the other major CalMil alliances committed to defend Eha. However, due to the entire Gallente Militia focusing on the system, this resistance was not sufficient. The hull timer for The Bloc’s home Fortizar in Eha is at 0400 tonight.
GalMil intends to fight on in and around Eha for as long as necessary.
NATIONAL GOONS SURVEILLANCE AGENCY DEPLOYS TO DEKLEIN
Goonswarm Federation has created an alliance wide AFK cloaky camping initiative. Dubbed the National Goons Surveillance Agency, the plan is to ‘shut down mining and ratting operations in any region we pick.’ Their first target is Deklein, where every system now hosts at least one Goon cloaky camping alt.
However, DARKNESS. FC Mardwen Gry suggested that this program is in fact a malinvestment by GSF, due to its expenditure:
All their project about massive camping is ISK negative anyway.
You need a plex by toon. So if each individual toon does not:
- stop a toon to get a PLEX
- make a PLEX
- kill at least a PLEX value
That means it’s ISK negative.
GSF has, however, made the case that the ISK expended on the cloaky camping is worth it in comparison to the economic activity suppressed in the targeted region.
GOTG has countered this camping strategy by creating a coalition wide response fleet. Featuring rotations of carriers and FAXes, it is always on-call to respond when GSF does hot-drop. It is understood by NER that this measure has gone some way to restoring confidence among GOTG members.
For now, that’s how it is in New Eden. Goodnight.
