UALX-3 BATTLE JULY 19TH – by Venus Dilara Shirin-Mirza
On Wednesday 18 July, Legacy Coalition anchored an offensive Keepstar in the system of UALX-3 in the Tenerifis region. The Keepstar was set to exit its anchoring timer at 02:00 EVE time.
On Thursday 19th July, North-Eastern Bloc forces moved to prevent the Keepstar from onlining and committed multiple fleets of subcapitals, capitals and supercapitals to the fight. Legacy Coalition, with the support of Imperium, prepared to defend the Keepstar against the North-Eastern assault. Early on, the Imperium also committed their shield supercapital fleet to the fight. Despite this disadvantage, North-Eastern Bloc forces were able to continually apply to the Keepstar, and it was eventually destroyed at 07:35 EVE time.
As the fight progressed and the supercapital fleets remained tackled, both Imperium and NCdot moved their armour supercapitals south. Waterboarding by hostile interdictor gangs heavily delayed both armor fleets en route to the Keepstar system. Goonswarm reinforcement supercapitals from Fountain were able to bridge into the system and aid Legacy, though a second fleet from Delve did not make it in time**.
By the time the NCdot armor supercapital fleet arrived in the region, the Imperium counterpart had already loaded the Keepstar grid. Just as the NCdot supercapital fleet was about to jump in, the server node crashed and hundreds of disconnects were reported After hours of connection issues, the server node crashing ended the battle before downtime hit.
There were 14* Titans destroyed in total, along with hundreds of capitals and an especially large number of dreadnoughts. A large portion of the PL & Eastern Allies supercapitals were reportedly trapped in the system.
At the time of reporting TEST alliance announced they would hellcamp the system, as the North-Eastern Bloc considered its options to extract its trapped supercapitals. Meanwhile, Legacy coalition anchored yet another Keepstar on the same grid and cyno-jammed the system, with another big fight expected to happen within the week.
* this tally includes one titan destroyed just after downtime
** this second reinforcement fleet was reported on stream during the battle, but the info has not been verified – let us know if this is incorrect and we’ll make amendments
AND NOW FOR THE NEWS WHERE YOU ARE
NORTHERN & NORTH-WESTERN
SKIRMISHING IN FADE
On Wednesday 18th Imperium forces attacked the cyno-jammer in E-9ORY and contested entosis timers in Fade. Reports indicate that the defenders successfully repelled these attempts. An AAR from the SLYCE perspective can be found here.
Circle-of-Two pilots report a multi-hour fleet against Imperium forces on the 19th, with skirmishes across Fade and Pure Blind. The tally for these exchanges is 22.83b lost by Imperium Forces to 29b for the Northern Allies. A fortizar in 6RCQ – Imperium staging – was destroyed and is included in the latter loss total.
On Thursday 19th Circle of Two engaged an Initiative fleet in E9KD-N, Fade. The Initiative pilots in Abaddons engaged a C02 Munnin fleet. Both sides escalated with caps, with a final tally at 62.79b lost by C02 vs 15.76b lost by Init. Comments from an Init pilot can be found here, and a C02 pilot here.
HORDE REDEPLOY TO PURE BLIND
Pandemic Horde have recently redeployed from Geminate to X47L-Q Pure Blind, with a brief war update posted by Gobbins. Core doctrines include a Megathron/Tempest fleet and a Tempest Fleet Issue fleet.
SOLAR FLEET LOSES 4 CORPS
SOLAR FLEET lost 4 corporations on Wednesday 18th who subsequently joined Dream Fleet. SOLAR continue to hold sov in Etherium Reach, but with a reduced group of just over 400 members, may be about to disband and merge into other alliances.
HED-GP STATION DESTROYED, DREAM FLEET DISBAND
On Tuesday 17th the HED-GP station – an infamous structure with a lengthy history – was destroyed following an attempt to unanchor. Salivan Harrdin has written an article describing the history of the structure and its destruction. An AAR from TEST FC Vily can be found here.
Dream Fleet have apparently disbanded on the 20th, shortly after several corps who left SOLAR FLEET joined. Dream Fleet were formerly members of the RMC (Red Menace Coalition) bloc based in Period Basis, but have recently been reset by the Imperium and allies. Red Menace members included Red Alliance, Dream Fleet and Midas22.
A Dream Fleet exec has confirmed to NER that they intend to reform the alliance with all of the extant corps remaining.
SHADOW CARTEL KEEPSTAR REINFORCED
On Wednesday 18th Shadow Cartel’s keepstar in Aeschee, Placid was reinforced by Snuffed Out. Comments from Snuffed Out can be found here and here. The keepstar has subsequently repaired, and we have been advised, reinforced again by Snuffed Out on Friday 30th.
On the same day, three corps left Shadow Cartel. We are currently contacting people to interview and hope to publish an article soon. Please get in touch if you have any info.
