Siseide system, Heimatar region. On the 16th of February at 11:30 EVE Standard Time, the first battle for Siseide began as Snuffed Out [B B C] started its assault on the system serving as Siege Green. [SGGRN]’s main staging.

The battle was fought over a Tatara refinery belonging to Siege Green, one of the structures hit by Snuffed Out’s forces. With a favorable timer, Siege Green and its allies including Shadow Cartel [SHWDC], Shoot First. [SFAQL] and House of Serenity. [H0S.] among others planned a defense of the structure.

Snuffed Out gathered a 90 pilot Machariel battleship fleet with force auxiliary support and more than one third of the fleet comprised of dreadnoughts which waited in range of the system, as a capital escalation was expected.

Against this, the makeshift coalition gathered an 80 pilot Leshak battleship fleet with force auxiliary support. A whole dreadnought wing was also assembled, the ships waiting for the signal to enter the fray once Snuffed Out made its move. Altogether more than a 130 pilots showed up to defend the refinery.

Snuffed Out was first to the field, warping its battleships at medium range (50 kilometers) of the structure and bringing its force auxiliaries a bit further ahead (70 kilometers). With Snuffed Out set up, Siege Green and its allies undocked their battleship fleet with their force auxiliaries and used another structure on the grid to bounce and land on top of the Snuffed Out sub capitals.

Both sides traded fire at point blank range (20 kilometers) but it was clear from the start that with the amount of force auxiliaries each side possessed that it would be impossible to break through the remote repairs. Thus Snuffed Out escalated first, lighting a cynosural beacon and bringing in a single squadron of dreadnoughts to deal with the Siege Green battleships. The dreadnoughts entered siege cycles and opened fire on the battleships, their firepower more than enough to overcome the ships’ armor and inflict losses.

Siege Green returned the favor, lighting a cynosural beacon and bringing forth dreadnoughts from outside the system while others warped from citadels in the system itself. The dreadnoughts landed, entered their siege cycles and targeted their hostile counterparts, aided by the sub capital fleet as the two combined their firepower. Snuffed Out quickly brought the reminder of its dreadnoughts to the field and switched its focus to the defenders’ dreadnoughts turning the battle into a full capital brawl.

The two sides traded blows, exchanging dreadnoughts with every volley but as the battle continued, Siege Green’s advantage in both battleships and dreadnoughts became clear. For every dreadnought it lost, it took down two in return and the ratio was only increasing. Snuffed Out fleet commanders realized they couldn’t win the fight and ordered the remaining dreadnoughts to discontinue siege cycles and either jump out or warp off at first opportunity.

Siege Green and its allies did what they could to tackle as many hostile dreadnoughts they could, but a good number managed to extract. With its capital force either destroyed or in retreat, the Machariel fleet left as well, warping off before it could become a target for the overwhelming force of the defenders.

This left the field for the defenders, who quickly dispatched whatever stragglers remained on grid before looting the wrecks and extracting their own capital assets. The Tatara itself was allowed to initiate self repair without interruptions, securing the objective as well for the defenders. With this, the first battle of Siseide came to a close, with Siege Green and allies victorious.
